We were two strangers trying to 'acquaint' ourselves with this quaint theme park. Me, perhaps being the only Filipino who has not seen the drama, and him enjoying his first visit after almost 15 years. Once it was just a park open to public built by MBC TV station, then reconstructed into a drama set in 2003. I can't believe he never attempted to sneak in to watch the filming inside when this place is almost just across his street! Tsk, tsk...
Lee Young-Ae is even her favorite actress!
Moi, trying hard to be an almighty kusinera!
Entrance fee: 5,000 won
(1,000W discount for Yangju City residents)
Tour duration: approx. 1.5 hours
Killing time while tripping down memory lane: Priceless!

How to get here: take Seoul Metro Line 1. Get off at Yangju Station exit 1 and cross the street. A local Yellow bus marked DaeJangeum Thema Park (#2-4) leaves approx. every 5 minutes.

hey nomadic princess,
it's a little far. almost 2 hrs I think if u take the subway. get off from Yangju station line 1 then take 78 local bus to mansong-dong. are u in korea?
I'm planning to go back to korea next year (cross fingers!) hehe! I was hoping I could visit the Theme park. Thanks for the info!!! I enjoy reading your blog. I hope u don't mind.:)
hi, in Sept, we will check out the place too. Are there places we could eat at that's not far from the theme park? How far is it from Korean Folk Village if we take the subway?
Anonymous,
there are snack/gift shops inside for a quick bite. this place is a little far from the main road so better bring some food. the place is great for picnics too. but you can pretty much tour the whole area in less than 2 hours.
But a day is not enough to tour the Korean Folk Village. I've been there last May. It was so beautiful and they have short cultural presentations too. It took us almost an hour coming from Seoul by car and about 2.5 hours going to Yangju (where the Dae jang geum park is. I live near here too). So I suggest you don't come to these 2 places on the same day.
here's a link on how you can go there by car or subway http://www.koreanfolk.co.kr/folk/english/contact/contact_tran.html
hahahaha...i've been there to tour my family...but i've never seen the drama too
pareho pala tayo! kala ko ako lang di nakapanood! :0
