BLOG generation

I've been browsing through some friendster blogs for sometime and couldn't help but feel arghh..a bit depressed and a little angry!. The themes are pretty much similar and oh so monotonous. It's all about love -unrequited, lost yet being a little hopeful and more of this self-declarations of "I can do this!" or worse "I'm scarred, yet now reborn!" Come to think of it, these are blogs of my friends and acquaintances (sorry, guys!) so i couldn't help but pity myself that I belong to this same clique! God, is this all this generation is about? I mean, none of us is truly happy? Is blogging a place for all these pathetic hopefuls who have nobody to care abouty their shit except for somebody to chance upon their blogs and leave a comment if they feel like it?

It's a big, big lonely planet indeed.

no, not the BLOG but THE WHINE and PRETENTIOUS generation. i mean yes, a blog's supposed to be an online journal but some people took the "journal" aspect a tad literally.

though most of these so-called stories of pain and more pain (and sometimes eventual redemption) are true, most are fabricated existential bullshit as well you know, so people will get to see how "deep", emotional, and sensitive they can be. and, good god, i almost forgot--how "artistic" they can be. i tell you: the tortured artist bit is the most overused and cliched method of showing people how great and, well, how artistic you are.

it's a world of pseudos nowadays. pseudo-artists, pseudo-analysts, pseudo-counselors, pseudo-psychiatrists, pseudo-fashionistas, pseudo-partyphiles slash society luminaries, and pseudo-people.

online, you can be anyone and no one.

with that said, your blog's one of the few i actually visit.

nice to blow off steam once in a while.

PS. you mentioned your friends have blogs. basing from what i've read in your write-up, allow me to express my condolences.

hey anonymous,

couldn't agree more with you. i just wished people could be more real. why can't they write about more real stuff like not having water or electricity after a storm? hehe...sure beats the "loneliness" and "alone-ness" crap.

thanks for dropping by anyway. i rarely write here though. maybe there's not a lot that amuses me this time. or if something great does happen, i'd rather hold on to it. i'm sure you know what i mean ;)

well funny, but it's great that somebody shares the burden of this pseudo-mentality.

My condolences, too.

it is easier for people to write about pain and defeat. and more people actually write their pain because they want to be comforted and somehow want to caught someone's attention.

what you can't do in real world, you can do online. in virtual world, there are no faces, no shapes and no real personalities.
